VeloComputer6L - Transform your mobile phone into VeloComputer - an advanced cycling computer with GPS tracking.
Just put your phone in a pocket and listen to your speed and acceleration with customized VeloTones.
The light version appeals to general cycling enthusiasts who don't need advanced features such as cadence from the accelerometer, which is available in our Java version 6 and version 7 for Android. The light version works on most Java phones with a GPS receiver. Instead of cadence, it shows vertical climb in addition to altitude, speed, acceleration, trip time, and distance, as well as average, maximum, and differential speed and odometer.
All your trip data is recorded on the phone in CSV files and can be uploaded to a spreadsheet for training analysis or Google Earth for tracking.
VeloComputer uses VeloTones for audible speed and acceleration monitoring. VeloTones, like ringtones, are digital sounds which allow cyclists to monitor speed and acceleration audibly, by listening to VeloTones without looking at the display. It's like having your personal coach riding with you and telling when to speed up or slow down. You can record your own VeloTones and configure them to fit your training needs. Keep your eyes on the road, not your display!
For higher accuracy measuring spot speed and acceleration we developed the VeloComputer bluetooth sensor. The sensor attaches to a quick release on a wheel of your bicycle and wirelessly transmits precise motion data to the VeloComputer application on your phone. The application instantly calculates and displays spot speed, acceleration, time and distance traveled.
Unlike traditional cycling computer sensors, which measure a full 360° (degree) wheel rotation, VeloComputer's innovative technology is capable of detecting as little as 1° (degree) of wheel rotation. This unique sensing technology is at least 360 times more accurate than traditional sensors. It measures accurate spot speed and acceleration in less than 1 second comparing up to 7 seconds delay in traditional cycling computers. The next version of VeloComputer will also measure the torque and power without any additional sensors on your bicycle.
